About us
The Czech-Austrian Energy Expert Group (CZ-AT EEG) was established in 2002 by the Czech and Austrian Governments. The aim of the group is the assistance in public discussion within a wider constituency of Czech and Austrian experts to the questions that deal with the mutual relations of energy, environment and society.
For this purpose the group:
- exposes topics of innovative energetic policy
- organizes common workshops
- arranges discussions
- prepares summer schools and educational courses at the universities and colleges
- elaborates expert studies
- issues expert publications
- pursues other activities.
The CZ-AT EEG consists of experts from different Czech and Austrian universities and institutes. The group convenes regular meetings – twice a year, both in Austria and the Czech Republic.
The CZ-AT EEG has organized several activities. For example:
In March and April 2005 the exhibition “Building for the Future” and the symposium with building experts and architects from Austria and the Czech Republic was organized in the exhibition rooms of the Charles University in Prague.
In 2004, the research papers of CZ-AT EEG were published by the Charles University in the book “Energy for Sustainable Development”.
Another important activity of the CZ-AT EEG is to organize an annual interdisciplinary Winter and Summer School called “The Future of Energy Systems”.
Operation of the group is financially guaranteed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management of the Republic of Austria.
